Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided survey and civil engineering services for the development of 1701 Rhode Island Avenue NW. The 104,000-square-foot office building located in the Central Business District was transformed from a former YMCA National Capital building into a boutique office building. The facility features a host of amenities, including a fitness center, a penthouse conference room and lounge, a landscaped rooftop terrace; and roof decks on the penthouse and seventh floors.

The WM survey team was responsible for providing near and final wall check surveys, ALTA/NSPS survey, topographic and utility survey, and a survey to mark for the project site. Civil engineering services ranged from schematic design to construction administration, including stormwater management design, traffic control plans, foundation to grade package, and raze permit support documents. WM was responsible for routing and obtaining technical approvals from DC Water, DDOE, and DDOT.

1701 Rhode Island is LEED Platinum Core and Shell certified and has earned multiple awards, including NAIOP’s Award of Excellence.
