Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided survey and civil engineering services for the design of this mixed-use development occupying two-blocks in Northwest Washington, DC. Originally constructed in 1881, the O Street Market first served Washingtonians during the 19th century. The redeveloped project includes approximately 600 residential units, a 115,000 SF hotel, a 500-space parking garage, and 89,400 SF for retail. The project includes a 57,000 SF Giant Food, which is the primary retail focus of the development, and one of the largest grocery stores in the neighboring community. The grocery store was designed to include 13,000 SF dedicated to underground space.
WM’s scope of services included site design, stormwater management, and traffic control plans for the development. Raze documents, streetlight and traffic signal design, and traffic control plans were also provided. The WM survey team developed condo plats and plans, prepared tax lot division for AirRights, and completed ALTA and as-built surveys for the site.
City Market at O was awarded LEED Gold certification.
