Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided surveying and civil engineering services for the reconstruction of Commonwealth Tower located at 1300 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia.
Scope of services included traffic engineering for modifications to the streets on two frontages and the associated parking garage and loading dock entrances, as well as streetscape coordination with the landscape and architectural design consultants. All utilities were modified including fire protection, domestic water, sanitary and storm sewers.
The WM survey team provided limited boundary, topographic, and utility surveys to document improvements in public space and for erosion and sediment control plans.
Civil services included minor site plan support, including a to-scale plat and site plan showing existing and proposed buildings, parking, driveways, signage, and improvements. Civil support also included construction documents and meetings with Arlington County review agencies. WM was also responsible for coordinating and processing erosion and sediment control approval through the Arlington County Department of Environmental Services (DES). Construction administration services were also provided.
Commonwealth Tower is LEED certified.
