Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) is provided land surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for the streetscape upgrades and structural build-out for the existing, iconic convention center located in the heart of the District. The highly visited building is an adaptation of the bordering historic Carnegie Library structure.

Surveying services were initiated to capture the pre-existing conditions of the site and the in-place structure. Civil engineering scope of services includes permitting and approval of the project design, set forth by the Architects and Landscape Architects, through the district agencies. Permitting and approvals include DDOT Public Space, DC Water, DOEE Stormwater and Erosion / Sediment Control.

WM landscape team will assist with public space and urban design upgrades to activate and enliven the streetscape around the Convention Center. Public Art, bio-retention, hardscape updates, and general placemaking treatments will all be investigated and integrated into the final solution.
