Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) is provided surveying, civil engineering, and dry utilities services for the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) modernization of the 76,500 SF Eaton Elementary School. The historic building requires various systems upgrades and design solutions to maximize available space while protecting the facility’s historic elements. Renovations seek to maximize space for a growing student population, improve ADA accessibility, and preserve green spaces.
WM completed topographic and utility surveys as needed for verification and design. WM is responsible for providing full civil design services including concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Civil scope includes EISF coordination, schematic design submissions to DC Water, DOEE, and DDOT, and stormwater management design. WM is also responsible for assuring the proper technical approvals were obtained from DC Water and DOEE. WM is responsible for all electrical, gas, and telecommunications dry utility design services for the project, including applications and load calculations for utility connections.
The project is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification upon completion.
