Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided survey, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for the fast-paced modernization of the 145,000 SF MacFarland Elementary School. Exterior features include a vast array of site and ADA upgrades to allow for better functionality and access. This includes the integration of accessible ramps and walks throughout the site.

WM prepared a boundary, topographic, and utility survey as an existing conditions base for the design team. A full range of civil design services was provided, including concept design, schematic design, construction documents, stormwater management design, design development, and construction administrations. WM was responsible for site grading, public space construction, erosion and sediment control plans, and stormwater management design. WM was also responsible for preparing and obtaining technical approvals, and securing expedited review for the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan for the start of construction.

WM provided full landscape architecture design services including concept design, LEED Gold Design assistance, and Green Area Ratio (GAR) calculations.

The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
