Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided extensive land surveying services to support acquisition negotiations, eminent domain proceedings, and other needs as requested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA). The goal of the project was to design and install an operable train system along the 11.5 mile route starting in Fairfax County, VA and terminating in Loudoun County, VA. Six stations will be included at the completion of Phase II of the Silver Line. The WM team provided survey services for the Silver Line Phase II project under separate contracts with Stantec and Dewberry. Due to the site’s size, WM provided multiple crews to fully address all surveying tasks for the project. Details related to the scope of work under both contracts are provided below:

Specific scope of services completed includes:
• Boundary survey
• Easement plats
• Right-of-way dedication plats. Jurisdictions: WMATA, MWAA, VDOT, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Town of Herndon
• Vacation plats
• Utility, access, maintenance, and quitclaim easements plats
• Property monumentation
• VDOT street acceptance plans

Dewberry-
Completed 2016
Specific scope of services completed includes:
• Topographic survey and cross-section survey of streets
• Utility As-builts
• Test borings stakeout and location of test bores, including infiltration borings to support stormwater management design
• Survey of highway signs, WMATA rail, and supporting infrastructure
• Tree surveys (location, size and species)
