Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) is providing survey, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services for the expansion of the Greater Washington Educational Telecommunication Association (WETA) Public Broadcasting Service Headquarters and Studio in Arlington, Virginia. The project serves to supplement the two existing WETA offices with a new four-story building addition.
The WM Survey team provided boundary, topographic, and utility surveys as a basis for the design team. Civil services being provided by WM include design documents, civil engineering plan approval processing, and construction administration. Landscape architecture services include ground level softscape and hardscape improvements at the new building entry, hardscape and softscape design of the 5th floor roof terrace and associated garden design.
All design documents will be completed in accordance with the standards outlined in Arlington County’s Administrative Regulation 4.1 site plan approval process. WM is also responsible for coordinating with other groups within Arlington, including Urban Forestry Commission (UFC) to ensure that the new design will meet the requirements from such organizations. The project is expected to achieve LEED certification.
