Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) is providing land surveying and landscape architecture services for this 636,000 SF residential building with retail space on the ground floor. The project will be constructed in two phases, with the east side of the site to be developed in the first phase, and the west side of the site will be developed in the second phase.

The residential component of this project consists of five-levels of residential space, including 478 units with a rooftop pool and community garden terrace. 28 units will be set aside for affordable housing. The site will include an arrival court, parking lot, parking garage with one sub-grade level, as well as 48,000 SF of retail space on the ground level. CVS and MOM’s Organic Market have already committed as anchors to the development.

Landscape architecture services include working with City officials to develop an acceptable City of Alexandria streetscape suitable for the development, while adhering to the intent of the Arlandria Small Area Plan. Coordination was also completed with the City to integrate the development with the existing 4 Mile Run Park to ensure access and safety for the community. The design for the entry courtyard was complete all on structure, and is slated to feature public art and provide a high-end entrance to the facility. The two rooftop courtyards will feature a swimming pool, resident gathering spaces, and contribute to the site’s green open space.

This project also involves working with the City for the rigorous Development Special Use Permit approval process.

Civil services were provided through 2019 only. WM remains engaged on survey and landscape architecture services.
