Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture for multiple phases for the MetroTowns at Parkside project. The project includes 83 for-sale townhomes and 42 rental units as part of the Parkside development in Ward 7. This $33 million project is a mixed-income residential neighborhood including a community park and playground.

WM provided surveying for the site, as well as two phases of civil and landscape services. Scope of services included site planning, grading, traffic control plans and a stormwater pollution prevention. Landscape services consisted of streetscape improvements including tree protection, removal of structural soil, tree removal and replacement, and paving. Indigenous vegetation, a mature tree save strategy, and the use of rain barrels are some of the sustainable features utilized throughout the neighborhood.

WM also provided revised utility layouts, including gas, water, electric, and telephone service conduit layout. Completion of services required collaboration and approval from various organizations including DC Water, DDOT, and DDOE.
