Wiles Mensch Corporation – DC (WM) provided surveying and civil engineering services for the development of a four-story modular building for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Washington, DC.

The project served to create a new 40,000 SF modular building between the facility’s kitchen and the 1st floor morgue entrance. The intent of this project was to erect a modular building on the campus to house Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO) tenants and administrative services to free up space within the medical center for desperately needed expansion of patient care services. The project required coordination of the modular building’s location with the Master Plan of Development for the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC).

The WM Survey team provided boundary, topographic, and utility surveys to provide an existing conditions base for the design team. Civil scope of work included schematic design documents, design development, and construction documents.

Site Plan approvals included DC WASA, DDOE Stormwater Management, and DDOE Sediment & Erosion Control. WM also provided review of a proposal for the Contractor’s Request for Equitable Adjustment. Construction administration services were provided through project completion.
